Russell Hatton’s work is rooted in two decades of professional mastery. Drawing on 25 years as a commercial body shop craftsman, he brings an intimate knowledge of automotive paints, spray application and material behaviour to the making of fine art, a foundation that sets his practice apart.

Working on aluminium with industrial spray guns, Hatton exploits the unique reflective qualities of metal as a surface, applying both water-based and solvent-based paints and lacquers to achieve works of precision and spontaneity in equal measure. Selected pieces are enriched with precious metal leaf, lending a sense of quiet opulence to the finished work.

Based in the UK, he exhibits internationally and collaborates with galleries and designers worldwide.
